Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Bright amber-orange coloru. Slightly chewy, caramelly aroma. Full body. Lightly toasty, hints of caramel. Clean. Fairly flavourful brew. Nothing terribly special in terms of either flavour or aroma but quite well executed and with enough body and nuance in its caramel/toast notes to keep things flowing. Nicely done.

Draught at Kbenhavnske ldage. Clear, golden, well-carbonated beer with a lovely, creamy off-white head. Fruity nose, lightly hoppy, and balanced. Nice, fruity, balanced flavor where some piny notes also find theire way. Creamy and silky mouthfeel. Sweet, fruity and nicely hopped finish. A lovely lager. Wish more brewers could follow this example. (070512)

Bottle, pours a dark copper with a light head. Aroma of yeast and dough. Flavour is a good balance of malts and hops, with yeast and dough. One of the best lagers Ive had.

A: The pour is a light amber color with about a finger of white head. S: Starts off with quite a bit of toast and bread. Just a sweet malt profile overall. There are some floral hops and a mild grass note. The necessary lager yeast aroma is present, as are some mild esters. T: Things dont deviate much on the palate. Sweet toast and bread malt flavors with a bit of a toffee note. Minimal bitterness with floral and grassy hop flavors. A few fruit esters give a bit of depth. M: Light to medium in body with a medium carbonation. O: Sort of an ubiquitous beer on the East Coast, it seems. I found it to be pretty enjoyable.

Pours a very nice clear red amber in the glass. Nose is very full citrus and malts. Taste has nice malt balance, some dry hops and citrus.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2009 Softly sweet, your nose will be begging for more. Unfortunately, once you let it onto your tongue your mouth will be begging for more too! Very american, with a spicy sweet fruitiness. A pure clean taste - you know its good for you!

Bottle. Lovely acidic, hoppy aroma, a little perfumy. Bright copper colour, unstable white head. Flavour starts off quite bitter, turning flowery and acidic and finishing with a nice bitterness. This beer is very nicely hopped on all levels.

Clear dark orange color, small white head. Not a very nice smell. Very standard and actually pretty poor, expected better from this brewery.
