Brooklyn Lager, the Brewery's flagship label, is New York's "hometown" beer, brewed to a pre-Prohibition recipe that dates back to the days when Brooklyn was the brewing capital of the East Coast. Brooklyn Lager has won numerous awards. Wrote Michael Jackson in the Simon & Schuster Pocket Guide to Beer: "The dry-hopped, fresh, flowery, firm, flavourful, Brooklyn Lager **-*** started well, in 1988, and has gained in character since."

Bottle. 12 fl. oz. Clear amber color with fine, white head and nice lacing. Blended aroma of sweet malt and citrus. Thin body with a dry finish. Flavor mirrors the aroma but with a healthy amount of bitterness going down. Clean, crisp, highly drinkable.

Pwn3d (1962) - Manhattan, New York, USA - JUL 12, 2008
Had in SoHo, on draft. Very similair to Sam’s boston lager imo. But all together a bit bolder.. heavy hop and spice presence, medium bodied. Looked great being poured. Overall, above expectations.

McGarnigle (650) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 19, 2008
Bottle drink by Sept 08. Clear copper/amber, white head. Very flavorful lager, but like most Vienna lagers. Sweet malts are overwhelmed by hops. Floral and aromatic, but ultimately, citrusy and bitter. Cascade are used and come through (this isn’t too far off from an APA or Amber ale). Lots of bite and some pilsner-like scratchiness going down.

nqualls (1452) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 26, 2008
12 oz bottle poured into a lager glass. Poured a clear gold with a huge sparse white head. Aroma was piney hops and some malt. Flavor is hoppy with a good malt balance. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

drywallman (362) - Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA - SEP 2, 2008
This one had the predominantly malty biscuit aroma of a Vienna, and a slightly off-white head. The liquid pours with the dark copper color. The taste was extra sweet even for a Vienna, and was balanced nicely though with floral hops. A good session brew.

SphinxTX (2875) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - SEP 22, 2008
Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX. Pours a very nice looking clear amber with thick off-white head. Has a nice malty floral aroma. Flavor is malty, hop flavor, with nice hop bitter. Mouthfeel is light-medium body, high carbonation. Over all, pretty good beer.

BiddleBrau (1221) - Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 22, 2008
Pours light amber with dense white head. Caramel aroma with slight floral hop aroma. Hops right up front, dry with slight malt finish. A bit thin on the tongue.

bottle thanks to dyetube. deep amber pour with a thin cream head. rich malt scent with some slight hops in the background. rich malts with a slight caramel finish, not too shabby of a brew.
