The cork to the 750 ml bottle came out with a distinct pop. Great appearance, a very dark body with a red tinge through the light and a frothy beige top, long lasting. I smell yeast, cane sugar and a little floral. A great entry. The taste is less so. I get some maltiness and a light touch of ripe fruit. It finishes with a surprising dry bitterness. You could do worse with a Belgian style, just not real thrilling here. Larry_Duffman (599) - - FEB 9, 2017
I poured it from the bottle into a glass. It pours a red and brown color with a big, beige head and lacing. The aroma is brown sugar, dark fruit, and Belgian yeast. The taste is raisin, prune, date, brown sugar, honey, and spice. It’s got a nice, subtle sweetness. It drinks much smoother than the alcohol content would suggest. This is a very nice beer.
