The cork to the 750 ml bottle came out with a distinct pop. Great appearance, a very dark body with a red tinge through the light and a frothy beige top, long lasting. I smell yeast, cane sugar and a little floral. A great entry. The taste is less so. I get some maltiness and a light touch of ripe fruit. It finishes with a surprising dry bitterness. You could do worse with a Belgian style, just not real thrilling here. Larry_Duffman (618) - - FEB 9, 2017
I poured it from the bottle into a glass. It pours a red and brown color with a big, beige head and lacing. The aroma is brown sugar, dark fruit, and Belgian yeast. The taste is raisin, prune, date, brown sugar, honey, and spice. It’s got a nice, subtle sweetness. It drinks much smoother than the alcohol content would suggest. This is a very nice beer. A brown color with a beige head. The aroma contains some honey, caramel, chocolate, floral notes, and raisins. The flavor is slightly sweet but mostly dry with some caramel, spiced fruit, honey, A bit of booze maybe like a brandy show up in there. Overall this is a nice Belgian strong. baraciisch (3438) - California, USA - JAN 3, 2017
Dark mahogany pour with light white tannish head... aroma of brown sugar, dark fruits, Belgian malts, nuts... flavor is more dry than you'd expect, very light and yeasty, dark Belgian malts, dark fruits, lots of funky yeast on the palate... decent

07/10/16. Brooklen event at Wine Rack, West Byfleet. Initial strong and sour aroma. A sugary sweetness then develops. Alcohol evident when swirled. Dark brown with a red tint. Off white medium sized head. Surprisingly light bodied. Sweet: spoces and fruit. Dry finish. But surprisingly bland. Just has no depth to it.

Bottle at home in Chevy Chase. Nice dark brown body with medium head. Nose is toasty, spicy, caramel. Taste is caramel, malts, coffee - and quite sweet. Spices in there too. Pretty good. commonshawn (1339) - Minnesota, USA - JUL 1, 2016

DwarfeD (3539) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - JUN 17, 2016
75cl bottle shared at home. Hazy dark brown with a medium beige head. Medium to full body with low to moderate carbonation. Quite sweet with herbal bitter tones. Caramel, roasted malts, brown sugar, some coffee and chocolate, spices and herbs. Quite nice. radio_nowhere (1474) - Maryland, USA - JUN 10, 2016
Corked/caged bomber into tulip glass, very deep ruby-amber color with tan head. Aroma notes of caramel malt, spicy Belgian yeast and some light dried fruits. Taste adds more Belgian spice character, clove, white pepper, brown sugar and light cocoa towards the end. Medium-heavy body, moderate-heavy carbonation, lively, tad sticky with sweet light cocoa finish. Pretty solid Belgian strong, drinks much lighter than its ABV.
