Here in Brooklyn weve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Bottle at AG. Dark red and Amber, nice head. Clear. Lovely Aroma of dark syrup, oat, caramel burned. Full taste, sweet honey, dark bread, notes of burned caramel. Hard carbonation. Balanced taste, perfect to the fancy meet dinner.

Type: 750ml (25.4-oz.) bottle Glass: Karl Strauss 26th anniversary snifter glass From: Eddys Beverage Inc. in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Price: $8.99 Purchased: July 14, 2015 Consumed: Aug. 15, 2015 Misc.: Born on July 21, 2014; Wire hood Poured a dark caramel brown color with 3-to-4 fingers of khaki-tan, rocky head. A few spots of foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Average retention. (Sight - 3.75) Smelled caramel, toffee, faint chocolate, dark fruit, plum, brown sugar, light molasses, grape juice, purple grapes, red apples, pear juice and juicy berries. Very nice. (Smell - 4.25) Taste wasnt quite as good as the nose. Got dark fruit in grape juice, plum, purple grapes and red apples. Also caramel, toffee, brown sugar, faint molasses, light chocolate, berries - blueberry/blackberry like - and some booziness late. (Taste - 3.88) Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.13) Overall this was a pretty good beer, just not quite there in my opinion. Would still have it again though. (Overall - 3.88) 3.97 89 B+

Pours a hazy and very dark brown color with a massive foamy beige head and lively carbonation. Aroma is spicy with some hints of plum and banana. Complex flavor consisting of plum and raisin notes, along with some chocolate and spices. Medium-to-full bodied with somewhat sweet finish. Very nuanced and enjoyable.

Well done and well balanced. Light florals with hint of caramel. Hazy brown pour with decent head. A hint of coppery aroma. Light sweet and sour finish. I slightly prefer the local 1. Bottle.

Bottle from Guillaume - thanks - Color: deep brown beer with no carbonation and heavy brown head. Very nice beer. Smell: domination of sweet and red fruits as grapes and raspberry. Notes of malt and sweet. Finish hoppy. Taste: good palate and nice body. Good red fruits taste, and malt. Lack of body and caramel notes. Sweet problem and domination of alcohol taste. Finish hoppy. Aftertaste: dry alcohol bitterness and red fruits. Global nice beer but with the lack of sweet the balance is not nice for this kind of beer style!

Dark opaque caramel beer with a thick tan head that just wont quit. Caramel malty nose with molasses, spice, a touch of honey just because I was looking for it, a flat yeast nose, and a touch of zee booze. Solid doubel taste, ripe cherries, molasses, thick caramel malt, bready yeast. Really nice caramel finish. Dangerously drinkable.

750ml bottle: This one pours a fairly clear brown color. There was a bit of a fizzy tan head that didnt linger long or leave any lacing. Little bit of a lighter nose, but still good. Chocolate, slight roast, dark fruits, yeasty, slight spice. The taste is quite good. Some caramel malts, dark fruits, hint of spice. Touch of sweetness with a hint of dryness in the finish. Body is a touch light for a 9% beer. Still, very good.
