Draft @ Capone’s. Interesting reddish-brown color with a spicy, rye-cherry aroma that is quite inviting. Flavor went from rye and hop bitterness to sweet and back. Lots of spices here to confuse the palate. Cool to try, but not really my thing - too many pumpkin beers have ruined me for this style in 09.
Rated on 5-18-2010 on tap at 800 Degrees Pizza in Fort Wayne, IN. This beer pours a small tan head with a short retention, opaque orange brown body, and no lacing. The aroma is rye, malt, spicy, and alcohol. The taste is rye, spicy and boozy. Cloudy brown beer. Frothy biscuit coloured head. Lightly sour nose. Soft and dry palate. Immediate sour fruity herbs. Sour enough to raise an eyebrow but nowhere near pucker levels. The Vermouth herbs and spices really sing through and complement the sourness. The finish is soft and dry and redolent of Vermouth. Fruity, lightly herby and spicy and unusual. Pretty good!
I’m not that familiar with the taste of a Manhattan but this was pretty good. Balanced aroma and flavor between a hint of spice, some fruit, light almost tart flavor and some wood. Draft. Pours hazy orange-ish brown with a thin head. Fruity sweet aroma with some brandy like notes. The flavor has brandy fruity notes, raisins, a woody hint, and a light hint of tartness. Solid stuff.

Pours a reddish brown with an off white head. Nose brings a bunch of spicy rye and a bit of booze. The taste is quite zesty and really gives off the cocktail vibe. Feel is a bit dry and quite a bit of rye is noticeable. Drinks okay and it is well executed, just not sure that I really like it all that much.

Sampled at the first brewvival festival. Near clear amber pour. Tasted like a christmas beer with lots of nutmeg. I guess that could be the rye. Pretty tasty stuff actually. Hides the alcohol fairly well too.
