Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness. When Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria wanted to celebrate his wedding engagement in 1810, he did what any good Bavarian prince would--he threw a beer festival. Bothe the festival and the special beer served there became known as Oktoberfest. Brewed from the finest German malt and hops, Brooklyn Oktoberfest is true to the original style, fullbodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Color is a nice dark brown with an off white head. Aroma is malty, but earthy and organic, not a great mix. The taste is mostly that earthy, organic with a very carbonated finish. Ends a bit unpleasantly sticky sweet.

Very beautiful reddish amber with lots of carbonation and creamy tan head. Smells like bread. Nice creamy body, rich malty flavour, some Euro grassy hops. No rough edges. Seems like the style.

From 330ml bottle. Pours dark amber colour, small white head that soon dissipates. Aroma is a little of bread and malts. Some carbonation on the tongue on first taste. Light caramel taste with hints of hops and malt. Not much bitter. Easy to drink for that Oktoberfest period. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Oddbins central. A clear ruby-amber beer. Aromas of malt, toffee apples and clove. Initial taste is light malts and pine resin developing into a deeper malt aftertaste. Sparkling medium carbonation with surprisingly light finish for such a spicy beer. A bit like a Christmas pudding if it were made as beer. Nice as long as you like malts.

On tap at Ice Cold Beer Here 2. It pours a clear golden orange color with an off white head. The aroma has some toasted malt, orange, honey and flowers. The flavor is very caramelly with some earth, florals, toast and orange. Kinda sweet on the palate. Not bad, but a little too sweet for the style.

On tap in Greenville, SC. Pours with a clear dark amber body topped by a bubbly (soapy) head. Aroma: baked bread and toffee Flavor: like the aroma stronger. Theres a load of caramel alts in this. Excellent bitter/sweet balance. Modest complexity. Feel: medium body. Smooth.

Clear auburn. Fragmented ivory foam. Very ordinary but decent aromas of breadcrust, peppery hops, molasses, and browned toffee. Underlying notes of dryer sheets, alcohol, and grape jelly. Loose and foamy carbonation. Opens with big breadcrusty malt richness laced with plummy esters. Fairly rich in texture as well, though much of the vivider elements are masked by weighty sugars and tacky caramel. Adequate "snap" to the body keeps the sugars from overtiring the palate too quickly. Solid depth of malt, though there is a smidgeon of wet paper beneath the crunchier and sturdier-structured toffeelike Munich that significantly keeps things dull. A floral softness looms beneath the prickly hops with its shy whispers. Finishes simplistically malty with caramel, wet paper and raisin flavors. Soggy breadcrust lingers. While there’s nothing overtly flawed about this, it’s simply too sweet and basic, and the pure and characterful maltiness just isn’t there for me. It also seems to me that the brewers have chosen to go with an overcomplicated malt bill instead of a decoction-mash schedule, and that’s unfortunate.

I’ve been drinking a lot of Oktoberfest lately, and while this one doesn’t disappoint it also does WOW me either. A nice malt character with low bitterness and lively carbonation makes this an easy drinking lager. Would like a little more flavors to stand out with the malt in an Oktoberfest but still a good beer to drink.

Aroma is corn, wheat, caramel, malt, bitter. Appearance is rust orange, off white head, clear. Taste is caramel, corn, wheat, bitter malt, flavor reminiscent of a scotch ale. Mouthfeel is light body, light crisp carbonation, caramel metallic aftertaste. Overall, eh. Not really like the other Oktoberfest beers I’ve had.

Clear brown orange, minimal tan head. Aroma is not much, some malt. Medium-light body. Pretty sweet overall, some malt, caramel, finishes a little drier. Straightforward, not bad.
