On draft at Rattle and Hum. Pours a semi clear coppery orange with a medium light beige head. Aroma of faint hops, light tangy citrus and honey. Taste is much the same. JohnQPublic (387) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - NOV 20, 2008
Draught @ Brooklyn Brewery. Pours clear dark amber, with a fluffy white head. Nose is heavily spiced, yeasty, big sweet bready malt. Flavor is spicy up front, with a body that’s big and sweet, bready, with some dark fruit in there as well. Finish is yeasty, slightly off-dry. Mouthfeel is creamy, very light, but still a bit scrubbing. This was w a big hit for me, really well done. jefcon (1884) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - JAN 18, 2009
Draft. I really liked this biere de garde. Lots of rustic aromas, and an appropriately sandy brown color in the glass. Wheat, yeast, rye and a little bit of acidic malt. Tasting reveals more malting and a medium caramel finish.

Tap. Moderate malt aromas of light bread, cereal, toasted and caramel, light perfume and dough for the hops and yeast, with notes of red wine, honey and a fruity hint in the background. Head is creamy, white with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy orange/brown. Flavor is moderately sweet and lightly acidic to start, and is moderately sweet and lightly bitter in the finish. Palate is medium, oily and has a soft carbonation. It finishes lightly alcoholic. Well balanced, this Biere de Garde has all the necessary elements to call it an exceptional beer. blklab2007 (2120) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 8, 2009
on tap at the gingerman poured a bright amber and has a nice one finger off white head. aroma has some grains, sweetness, hop spice, and fruit. mouth feel is medium and carbonation low. flavor has a nice complementing malted body and candy sugar thing. hops contribute spices and bitterness and there is a little pollen and pitted fruits. the style I have come to like, and this one has lots of interest stops along the drinking journey.
