growler. clear copper with a large fluffy head. peanut shell, honey, butterscotch aroma. silky, gelatinous, smooth palate. slippery like butter. interesting buttery, nutty flavor with a faint twangy german noble hop addition. a pale bock similar to hellesbocks or maibocks with a beefed up abv that turns out to be very drinkable. bravo! dwyerpg (6378) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JAN 2, 2014
This tasted far less sweet than most Dopplebocks and was lighter in color as well. However, it had a great flavor and an excellent smooth finish. Quite good Ferris (16300) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 31, 2013
Draft - Pleasantly bready, like a raisin bread. Malty sweetness, very nice. Clear copper with a rich white head. Hoppy up front but bready and malty with a mild bitterness. This is odd in a superb way, definitely a fan.

Caramel notes and the aroma of caramel was also great. Poured very nicely into the glass. Don’t like a lot of their beers and this was a pleasant surprise at how good it is. mverity (294) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JAN 2, 2014
NYE bottle share at Proof. Pours a perfect light amber brown. Really good amount of cream colored head. Head and collar last really well. Aroma is biscuity, caramel and some floral hops. Taste is wonderfully the same. Well balanced and delicious. Great medium body and carbonation.

Remarkably maltiness that I will surely revisit another time or two. Home of Sorachi Ace, one of my all-time favorites. Yes, Doppelbock is a Lager and this is a HUGE doppelbock! TheJerkstore (3) - New York, USA - MAR 18, 2013 does not count
Interesting beer. Never would think it was the Brooklyn lager double bocked. Good bright flavors, clean finish.

On tap at Archive Beer Boutique. Big alcohol kick, glad I only had a small glass of this. Caramel and light brown colours swirl together to make an awesome looking beer that smells and tastes great. drpimento (3734) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 10, 2013
Interesting dopplebock - Served at a good temperature with a colossal, cream-colored, foamy, frothy, billowy head that settled to a light cover after a bit and some lace. Color is a hazy medium amber. Aroma is firstly hops, resin, citrus, malt, spice, bread. Flavor has the hop back way off, malt come thru a lot more, quite dry and some tang. Body/carbonation are killer. Finish is like flavor, on the short side and very drinkable. Delish beer! Thanks to Pat and Karen for the treat! BEENJAMIN (290) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 30, 2014
750ml corked and caged bottle - poured a clear copper with a thick off white head. Complex aroma; sweet malts, caramel, apricots, apples, dark breads, grain, and lager yeast. Really nice clean flavors with herbal bitter hops. I found this lager to be original and freaking delicious. With over a year in the bottle this has aged really well.
