The Brooklyn Brewery is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. We are fortunate to be a part of the incredible cultural renaissance Brooklyn has enjoyed during the last quarter century. Four great Brooklyn artists whom we met along the way—Fred Tomaselli, Roxy Paine, Joe Amhrein and Elizabeth Crawford—have created special labels for our Silver Anniversary Lager beer. We are saluting our beginnings with a special doppelbock version of the Brooklyn Lager we introduced in 1988. This beer is re-fermented in the bottle and will taste great today or years from now. The original was inspired by the beers of 19th Century New York and Vienna.

crazyvin (2026) - New York, USA - JUL 2, 2013
Poured a clear medium brown color with a beige head. Aroma had a nice caramel malt presence upfront. There was a mix of toffee notes, candied sugar and a slight hint of citrus hops. Flavor had mostly sweet flavors. Caramel malts were great there was a nice added sweetness from the candied sugar flavors. There was just enough bite from the hops and alcohol to keep this beer from being cloying. Carbonation seemed a little high. There was a little bit of nice sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

Patrickctenchi (6731) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - OCT 28, 2016
Bottle: (8.6%) Pours cloudy amber with a small, off-white head. Apple, raisin, toasted bread aroma. Apple-peel, spiced bread, caramel malt flavour. A bit of perfumed/citrus lean to it.... Mild alcohol bitter and warmth. Pretty good.

Svesse (8777) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 14, 2016
(Bottle) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with crisp-bread, toffee, honey, dried fruit, grapefruit and a touch of white pepper. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of rye bread, treacle-toffee, caramel, honey, grapefruit, orange peel and a balanced spicy, citric bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced bock, with a fresh citric touch. Nice one.

Big and lasting light beige haed. Solid golden color that is litle opaque. Clean lager aroma with some nobel hops in the background. Bitter and clean taste.

Pours a dark rusty copper color with a beige head. Nose is caramel and toffee, and sweet. Taste is grainy with light hops, rather bland with no real flavors standing out . Boring ! Quaff Score 6 /10

Ughsmash (7510) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 30, 2016
750mL bottle. Poured deeper orange with a well-retained off-white head. The aroma picked up swestern biscuits malts, caramel, berries, and a hefty dose of oxidation.. smelled a bit old. The flavor found similar, with bread you malt support anduring berries + oxidation around.. dry on the finish with muddled malts and dusty notes. Medium-bodied and fairly well carbonated.. creamy middle.. too much broken-down stuff to be great.
