Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2012 Pleasant, comforting aroma of honey-lemon, coriander, lemongrass, orange peel, floral hops, and yeast, with a bit of molasses in the background. The mouthfeel is medium to light, with a wheaty feel to it and adequate effervescence that doesnt get in the way. The taste is mellow and very refreshing, with the above-mentioned notes resulting in an excellent interplay of citrusy bitterness and herbal sweetness. Ill be sure to revisit this brew.

Almost no smell but maybe some light bubblegum..Taste has the bubblegum too but lots more...Very unique..The lemongrass that they talked about in the rare hops is there too...Very different and smooth...No bitter hops...Yet some light Sourness...Complex... Had at flying saucer for St Pattys day with john 2017

Delicious Saison, fruity and herbal without growing overly sweet. Nice clove-spice graininess transitions to a mild lemony middle, while the back end stays thankfully dry, the hops adding a floral bitterness that melds nicely with the bright grassy Saison front. Not what I anticipated (thought it was an IPA), but a pleasant surprise nonetheless.

Slightly cloudy golden colour. Aroma is of lemon, hops, grass, orange peel and that sour farmhouse yeast. Taste is of lemon, orange, slightly sour wheat and a malty finish. Nice beer, but unremarkable. Price Paid: 1 (out of date).

Poured from a 35,5 cl bottle at home. Hazy orange with floating particles. Bubbly slight off-white head with moderate lacing. Strong yeast aroma (Belgian) with slight fruit and some bubble-gum. Body is medium and texture watery to oily. Quite dry and bitter. Unfortunately I do not enjoy the flavour of Belgian yeast. Otherwise a very nice beer.

20170225 Home, 35.5 cl bottle; Bier with 7.2 % ABV!!! A light yellow beer, somewhat cloudy and with a white, thin head. The aroma of light malt, fruity (apple, pear, grape, peach), light hay, some hopbitter. Somewhat champagne-like. Taste is light sweet with fruitiness (see aroma). A nice hopbitter aftertaste with somewhat lemon. A nice complex beer.

Bottle. I remember having this for the first time at Spuyten in Brooklyn, shortly after it came out, must have been 2009-ish? My favorite beer by Brooklyn. This beer does everything right and is criminally underrated. This beers pours a murky gold, a classic saison appearance. Aroma is Sorachi Ace, some lemon and funk. Taste is passion fruit, lemon, yeast, light peppercorn, and biscuit. A wonderfully complex beer, And this from someone who is not a huge saison fan.
