COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition. FOOD PAIRING Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch. SPECS Style: English Style Light Dinner Ale Malts: Two Row British Malts Hops: German Perle and American Cascade, Fuggle, and Amarillo Alcohol: 4.5% by volume Original Gravity: 11 Plato

GoufCustom (2312) - HONG KONG - FEB 13, 2018

355 ml bottle bought at Aeon Style in Whampoa Garden, Hung Hom.

Clear golden colour; Half finger head with soapy white foam which fades in 40 seconds; Very good sticky lacing and active carbonation; Pungent aroma of malt, with cream soda, blueberries, light yellow fruits, floral, sugar, spices, wood, bread, lemon and smelly grass; Mid to light sweet taste of light Ale malt, with grains, tartness, floral, light sugar, light herbs, dough, dry biscuits, light lemon, fair bitter hops and strong grass; Close to light body. Quite slick and crisp palate; Mouth feel is fair to light maltyness in a slightly watery background. Grainy and carbo-ish with very little hop fruity characters. Flowery with light sweetness, Slightly herbal, dry bready with light lemon to round. Easy... Hoppiness is cream soda, blueberries, yellow fruits, floral, spices, wood, lemon and smelly grass in nose. Floral, light herbs, light lemon and strong grass in taste; Bitterness is light for an abrupt, low astringent grainy finish; Dry after taste. Bready, crisp and slightly bitter to mouth.

Comments: This is a light Golden Ale meant for easy drinking. Every aspect from malt to hops got a fair but pretty respectable touch. Like its dry and crispyness, but ruined by its smelly hops. One for easy Summer thirst quenching.

same brewer - same issues. It would be great if they made 15 great beers. I am all for that!!!! But their beers continue to have too much hops, too little noticed flavor (other than hops) and far TOO MANY "extra" flavors that i do not recall tasting in any other beer I have tasted. no thank you, i will leave this brewer alone

12 oz 2017 bottle served in a lager glass. Pours with a pale amber body that has excellent clarity and lots of visible carbonation. Fine white head with nice lacing. A mild ale, but quite flavorful compared to, say a light beer. More flavor from the hops than the malts but very mild bitterness.
