COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition. FOOD PAIRING Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch. SPECS Style: English Style Light Dinner Ale Malts: Two Row British Malts Hops: German Perle and American Cascade, Fuggle, and Amarillo Alcohol: 4.5% by volume Original Gravity: 11 Plato

12 oz. bottle. BBD Aug 2017. 5% ABV per the label, so a slight recipe change. Pours a thick, well retained, tiny bubbled off white head, with moderate lacing, over a clear effervescent yellow (SRM 3) body.......nose is light bread tones from the malts, hop spice, light citrus tones, balanced.....taste is mild malts, with light bread, cracker tones, moderate hop spice, with light citrus, finishing with mild bitterness, balance lightly to the hops......mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, moderate carbonation. This is a pleasant light beer, with mild ingredients. The hops are a bit on the light side for the style. BJCP 6/3/10/4/6

Bottle. Clear pale gold with medium white head. Mild aroma, wheat and some citrus. Taste is very mild, some wheat and light citrus. Very easy drinkable beer, low on bitterness. Refreshing beer, and the watery texture fits well. On a hot summer day and in a thirst of beer, i would consider this one as a good choice.
