Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition. FOOD PAIRING Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch. SPECS Style: English Style Light Dinner Ale Malts: Two Row British Malts Hops: German Perle and American Cascade, Fuggle, and Amarillo Alcohol: 4.5% by volume Original Gravity: 11 Plato

Bottled. Very weak in flavour. Tastes quite flat and cereal like, similar to a lot of alcohol free beers, Moderate lacing. Very dull, quite boring.

From tap. Clear yellow with a thin white cap. Slight citrus nose, light bodied with light hops and a touch f sweetness. True to name a good hot weather sipper, just not a ton of character happening.

I prefer my beers with a significant 'nose'. This one has none. I also like a serious tongue feel and interplay of tastes. This reminds me of PBR but is likely a lot more expensive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, [email protected], Kolding. Pours clear pale golden with a small, staying creamy white head. Aroma has sweet malts, light maize, some grassy, floral, citrussy hops. Medium carbonation, kinda prickly, light thin mouthfeel, slightly dry. Flavour has sweet malts, light doughy, grass, grapefruit. Mild metallic edge, perhaps from the carbonation. Okay.

Tide (3830) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 15, 2017
Draught at Kultapalmu. Amber color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, a bit of hops, grass, toast and a bit of fruits. Bitter finish with citrus, hops, toast and a bit of fruits. Decent brew.

TBone (17442) - Pori, FINLAND - JUN 15, 2017
Tap at Cafe Anton, Pori. Clear golden color, good white head. Light nose has hints of citrus. Light-bodied. Clean, light fruityness, low on hops, light citrus. Almost like macro beer. Very easy.

BeerViking (4712) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 10, 2017
Bottle, golden pour with a lacing head, grassy hops and a little corn on the nose, spicy bitterness and golden malt, typically golden ale but with thinnish undertones. Pleasant.

3rd June 2017: mini tasting session with my wife. 355ml bottle (5%ABV) from a local Waitrose store: BBD 15th Feb 2018. Poured into a ’Hoegaarden Grand Cru’ badged stemmed tulip glass. White crown on a clean and clear golden body, looked good. Light citrus aroma, taste crisp and fairly bitter in flavour, decent.

k0mpsa (2925) - Tuusula, FINLAND - JUN 2, 2017
Tap at golf talma. Clear golden color, white head. Aroma has some malts and fruity notes. Malty body, some hoppy notes and some fruity notes. Could be more hoppy.

Virkelig en sommerøl. Smager godt på en varm teresse. Dejlig frisk. Smag ikke meget at skrive om.
