I enjoyed this fine brew on tap at the brick store. It poured a dark brownish color hinting on black with a dirty white head. Lots of nuts coffe and chocoaltes going on in it. Remained very smooth thoughout. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - JUL 19, 2005
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2008 [draft at MacGregors - Henrietta, NY] Dark black pour with a very thick and lasting tan head. Rich aroma of coffee and malts. The taste is very smooth and malty with hints of chocolate, mocha, roasted malts, smoke and coffee beans. Very smooth drinking and leaves a nice coffee aftertaste. Reminds me a little of Bert Grants Perfect Porter. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 24, 2005
(draft) Tan head atop a brown black body. Aroma is medium sweet, mocha, roasty. Taste is the same, with some fruitiness. Smooth medium body with low acidity, An easy drinking session beer. WISEGUY572 (1377) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 5, 2005
Pleasant enough. I always think of a porter as a simplified stout, and that certainly describes this one. A little roasted malt, a little sweetness, not much caramel, or coffee bitterness, or hops. Enjoyable but not special. rickgordon (3878) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 4, 2005
Draught at Mugs Ale Gouse.
Served way too cold. Black colour. Roasty, coffee and licoricy nose. Little nutty in flavour as well as slightly sour. Thin body adn not much taste(temperature I guess). Slight caramelly but enough for a good porter. Earthy malts.
