COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The floor malts give this beer a juicy malt character of considerable depth, 55% malted wheat gives it a surprising lightness on the palate, while our house ale yeast lends a gentle fruitiness. The Oxford Companion will impart knowledge, while The Companion imparts conviviality. Maybe you really can have it all?

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2011 on tap. Golden/amber with a cream head. Nose is dried fruits, hops, grains, light yeast, and dried fruits. Smooth palate, flavor matches the nose, i’m being lazy.

On tap at Lunar Brewing, and served to a snifter with a clear, orange/amber hue, moussy, off white head foam, and a heavy concentration of clingy curtains & spots of lacing. The aroma was very floral, fruity, sweet, and strangely spiced, almost phenolic. The flavor was a let down from the expressive nose, except for the noticeable alcohol presence and creamy mouthfeel. Light texture, light body, light bitterness and dryness ensued. Continues my perplexity following the Concoction.

blipp (9275) - La Mesa, California, USA - NOV 16, 2011
Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Sweet and fruity aroma, with toffee and candy-like notes. The flavor has toasty malts, sweet candy, caramel, and cherry. Nice.

Cavie (4718) - Arlington, Texas, USA - NOV 12, 2011
Pours a very clear copper to amber orange. Light ring of white head. Aroma is apple sweet, sugar, light wood with some dark fruits. Flavor is sugar, wood, apple spice, easy malts with a finish that kicks from the alcohol. A bit bland to be certain.

FROTHINGSLOSH (7796) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 12, 2011
Sampled on draft at D’s in Monroeville this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a small yellow-white head that faded and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was candied golden fruits. The flavor was tangy apricot and pear with a dryish table sugar presence and booziness pervading. The finish was long, tangy and boozy with lingering pear. Fairly full bodied. Ok.

alobar (3786) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 11, 2011
Orange amber color with no head. Aroma of fruit, bread, and honey. Quite sweet with fruit, hint of wheat and honey finish. Quite nice!

3.4
durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - NOV 10, 2011
This is an odd one, I guess a wheat wine more than a barley wine? Pours dark golden/light amber without much head. Nose of grain and summer fruits. Some butterscotch, which is also present on the taste. Pleasantly sweet, but heavy and not amazingly complex.

3.3
Drake (13737) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 9, 2011
Served on draft at Beer Run. Pours a clear golden color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of bread, caramel, banana and a faint bit of spice. The taste is wheat, banana, toasted malts, buttery note, coconut and faint citrus. Creamy texture, medium-full bodied.

finol (3389) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 9, 2011
