Keg at Tap East, London. Pours black with a thick, lasting, tight creamy tan cap. Nice, sturdy dark roasted malts in the nose with punches of burnt pine and grapefruit. Medium sweet flavor, pretty smooth, good roasty malts, some juicy grapefruit, nips of coconut, dark sugars. Medium bodied with fine, gentle carbonation. Moderate piney resins to finish, more well-roasted malts, light dirt, dark sugars, restrained burnt grass bitterness, some background cocoa. Great balance overall. Really smooth and cohesive.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouverharrisoni (19003) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2013
The color is black, deep, with middle sized beige creamy head. Mild aroma, fresh, roasted malts and a citrusy touch; later, some hop sweat appears. Smooth mouthfeel, with good body presence; the roasted malt flavor is not excessive, elegant, helped by a light sweetness in this; quite strong bitterness, well balanced, with some hop oils, mild hop resins, but less hop character than may be expected.
Overall, it provides a feeling of freshness; good.
On tap at Tap East. very deep ruby coloured beer. A chocolatey black ipa. Unless its really good i just want this style to die. I just dont like it. This one is ok. Just rlgk (18851) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 12, 2013

On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma of harsh burnt malts, some smokiness, and a mild hop character. Flavour is quite harsh, with charred / burnt malts, wood, a bit of a licorice-y, minty quality, and a moderate citrus hop character. Quite harsh, even for black IPA standards, though mildly enjoyable. Far from balanced or gently palatable. jtclockwork (16857) - , New Jersey, USA - JAN 26, 2013
