COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
IN ANCIENT Chinese medicine, the “Triple Burner” was responsible for the production and flow of energy throughout the body. The Triple Burner, or “San Jiao”, is not an actual organ of the body, but a sort of "spiritual water wheel” that takes in food, water, light and air, and transforms them into the life force known as “qi”. Tonics supporting the Triple Burner often included licorice root to encourage “natural sweetness and a light, joyful presence.”

We don’t know if it’s all true, there’s no denying that it sounds really cool. And frankly, we think everyone’s "qi” could use a little more balance. White wine barrels, a licorice spice blend from the famed spice wizard Lior Lev Sercarz, and a strong Belgian-inspired tripel base create Tripel Burner, a heady, aromatic ale that reaches a higher state of serenity.

Take a sip. Do you feel it? A certain warmth, a dry palate opening onto a fleeting impression of sweetness, a rush of figs, a touch of vanilla, a whisper of mint, a transportation of the mind? Poured into a proper glass, among friends, family or other good people, Tripel Burner can bring all the elements of the situation together. Relax and allow the energy to flow between you, your people, the music, the lights, the food. Good. You have arrived. Mind you, we are not claiming that Tripel Burner binds the universe together. That would be preposterous. Wouldn’t it?

750 ml. bottled Q3 2016. Golden with lots of little sea monkeys creating quite a torrent of bubbles. Sugary pillow Belgian style head. Nose is spicy pear, honey, lemon grass, resin and a touch of white wine. Tastes similar with some reedy hops and an earthy spice note that's more pepper, ginger and galangal than licorice to my taste buds. Later sips seem to have a squeeze of lime. Medium bodied with high carbonation, but not explosive in the mouth. Dry slanted with a small abv warmth showing but overall the 10.6% is pretty well disguised by the yeast and spice blend.

Hazy - murky matt - grey medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, fruity malt, moderate yeasty, belgium yeast, sweet yeast, anis seed, alcohol, light to moderate spicy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, licorice - anis seed, cinnamon, sweet yeast, pale malt, alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcholic. [20170311]

Murky amber.. Small white head.. Herbal lime... Oily lime fruit nose.. Bitter oily fruit nose... Soft sweet herbal lime fruit.. Juicy sweet fruits.. Light tart lime finish... Light bready fruits.. Tiny cinamon hints... Light bitter woody fruit.. Light dru salty finish.. So there is licorice and figs in here but no other spices .. Which is not where in going.. Im definitely getting a light cinamon and stella says ginger.. Long soft breadies finish 3.9

A surprisingly thin looking straw body with an explosive white head. The nose has acidic fruit, sawdust, figs and sweet malt. The overdone carbonation really puts a damper on an otherwise tasty tripel. Plums, figs, berries, brown sugar, grapes, a touch of nutmeg and acidic and tart dark and citrus fruit all work into the mix. A smooth and sleek mouth feel. Not as rich and sticky as expected.
