Bottle at KØ09. Mild vanilla and mild citrus, nicely acetic. Cloudy yellow colour. Very small white head. The flavour is mild vanilla with a little sourness. Cigarbox. Mild but nice. Sweetish. Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - AUG 12, 2009
Split the last bottle over at Spuyten last night with PilsnerPeter. Thanks Peter for arranging this. I actually liked this beer quite a bit. Pours a nice slightly hazed golden with a nice fluffy white head and good lace. Aroma is vanilla, oaky woodiness, toasted malts, bready dough, light to moderate bourbon- more straight oak mixed with Belgian yeasty phenols- definitely no diacetyl in our bottle. Flavor is doughy phenolic, light fruity esters, toasted malts, fresh, woody bourbon, vanilla, and light char- smooth and full mouth feel that dries out a bit in the end. I love Local 1 and the bourbon barrel was very subtle so I really dug this beer. BuckeyeBoy (8460) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 3, 2017

Bottle, 75cl corked, served by the brewer, at Copenhagen Beerfestival. A hazy, orange-golden beer with a rather small, off-white head. Bretty nose with citrus, spices, herbs, wheat and fruityness. There’s a little sweetness in the mouth, but it’s more on the bretty, barnyardy sour side, with some herbs and spices as well. Smooth mouthfeel. Finishes with barnyard, fruitynes and a spicy touch. A nice brett-infused beer, still maintaining it’s original flavors. (090517) PilsnerPeter (3050) - Flushing, New York, USA - AUG 18, 2009
Bottle shared with Dickinsonbeer: (Last bottle at Spuyten) Pours a hazy golden with a nice dense white head. The aroma is oaky, slightly tannic, some soft bourbon/vanilla, peppery phenolics and underlying dry bread crust notes. Fluffy fee with a sweet and spicy flavor that dries out. Starts with a vanilla note from the bourbon at the fore- this initial sweetness is rounded with a soft doughy malt note and later peppery oak and subtle alcohol. Pretty nice, though a touch solventy. I have a theory that some of these bottles were infected, or just poorly conditioned based on some of the previous ratings.
