Pours a clear brown beer with a medium, very fine and beige head. Smells malty (biscuit), yeasty, spicy (licorice) also has a small hint of chocolate. Tastes slightly bitter. Leaves a light palate. Some malt bitterness lingers but that is about it. mouthfeel is medium. And the alcohol tastes light. Ok beer but nothing exceptional.

Tap at Pizza Luce. Light orange brown with a thin white head. Grapenuts, floral hop, woody and malty cereal. Tastes floral and malty. Body is lighter with strong carbonated feel.

BeerViking (4712) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 1, 2015
Bottle from Wholefoods Richmond, deep amber-brown with a fast-settling head and a typical roast caramel nose with hints of orange and honey. Sweetish toasty body with touches of dark fruit and faintly of marmalade, the burnt and lightly bitter flavours taking the edge off the toffeeish sweetness.

Stine (1780) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 30, 2015
Burnt orange color; clear. Malt aroma comprised of dates, oily nuts, burnt honey, rich wheat bread. Basic, clean. Deep notes of old wood and mild vinegar. Plain, but satiating malt flavor. Amber honey, distant cinnamon, various aerated spices. Crisp palate; lots of crystal malt is somewhat quieter than it would seem.

330ml bottle. Says 6.1% on the label. Pours deep red. Aroma of dark fruits especially blackcurrant. Tastes malty and fruity. Blackcurrants again. Head has totally disappeared. Quite a dry finish. Decent if not great.

Not particularly memorable scottish ale. Dominated by the malts and rich in caramel and toffee. Off putting aftertaste.

Draught @ Bubba Gump NYC: This one poured a crystal clear amber color. There was a very small head that didn’t linger long or leave much lacing. Some spiciness and malts, but no real sweetness to the aroma. Decent enough taste. Somewhat dry, malts, spices. Pretty smooth. Not bad.

Pours a dark golden color with an off white head. Aroma and flavor of subtle malt and spice.
