Scores a touch low. A wee heavy this is not, but it warms up nicely to be a malty toffee and fruit forward Scottish ale. Very light smoke and hops. Finished sweet. Pleasant, if not too complex. onceblind (10861) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 25, 2014
Clear deep chestnut amber with a head that recedes really quickly. Sweet raisin and lightly cherry accented toffee nose of winter ale malt. Smooth and sweet nutty flavor with some nice dates and cherries with a doughy brown malt and belgian candy sugar. Nuanced and flavorful but needed more body. Pours a dark brown with a tan head, nice lacing. Aroma is malt, a touch of skor candy. Flavor has that same candy like molasses, a touch of dates, and some toffee notes. Moderately thick, smooth, easy drinker. Enjoyable brew this year. rjmc64 (37) - Deer Park, New York, USA - DEC 20, 2014
Light brown pour, nice off white head. Caramel, malty nose. Medium mouthfeel. Sweet malty flavors... too sweet maybe? Not much depth in the flavors. SG111 (2140) - New York, USA - DEC 17, 2014

Very malty with sweet fruity and biscuit notes. Not a lot of flavour coming through from the hops. Yes it’s an ale for winter nights. markas101 (2529) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - DEC 9, 2014
33 cl bottle, Calgary, AB, Canada via Zyn. Transparent iced tea appearance.. Subdued bready malt aroma. Mild flavour, malt predominant, with a medium nutty finish. Namespayne (67) - - DEC 5, 2014
Aroma is raisin, spice, fruits and ale. Not much bite to this, not too much flavor either. A bit caramely on the palate. Meh.
