The first beer of the Brewmaster’s Reserve line, this beer was brewed from a completely different set of malts than our other two weissebeers. Weyermann Pilsner and Munich malts from Germany were blended with malted wheat to create a beer with a slightly sweet, almost candied center, backed up by toffee and bread. The aroma is full of banana with a touch of cloves and malt. Technically, this beer is a "weissedoppelbock"; large amounts of malt were used, bringing its strength up to 8.2% by volume. After a warm fermentation, the beer was cooled and held in conditioning for five weeks to round it out to a fine smoothness.

On tap at the Waterfront Ale House. Caramel color with a nice soft lacing on top and a quickly dissipating fluffy light head. Creamy and malty with a nice hoppy back of the mouth feel after each sip. Nice use of spices and complex in flavor. It is quite smooth and you don’t notice that it is 8.2%.

stegosaurus (1882) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 5, 2008
On Draft @ Capones with Mad_indian. Pours cloudy orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of bananas, spices, and citrus. Flavor is slightly sweet, banana, spices, and toffee. Decent body, alcohol is well hidden, good brew.

Ty5592 (1024) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 29, 2008
Draft. Clear amber color with malty bread like aroma with banana, toffee, and spicey notes. The taste was the same with chewy malty mouthful. This was pretty good.

MrBendo (1064) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - MAY 25, 2008
On tap at Capone’s. Clear orange color with a small but creamy head. Aroma of banana yeast, wheat and light flavored fruit; pears and apricot. I didn’t sense the alcohol at all.

MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 24, 2008
On tap at Capones with Stegosaurus. Cloudy popur with definite wheat/banana aromas. Wheat flavor with toffee and sweet malty notes. Very easy to drink.

JB175 (1665) - Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 24, 2008
Amber-brown color with a medium whitish head. Aroma dominated by wheat and lots of sugar plus a bit of banana, citrus, and wheat. Flavor has a nice wheat/brown sugar thing going on overall, but a tad thin and boring. Not a bad brew - quite tasty in fact, but I would expect a more adventurous flavor.

hopdog (13191) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 22, 2008
On tap. Pured a medium and hazy amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of wheat, light bananas, bread, and light spices. Tastes of bananas, spices, some bread, and had a candi sugar sweetness. Alcohol content well hidden with the body on the thinner side.

TomDecapolis (4636) - Milton, Delaware, USA - MAY 21, 2008
On tap at Capones. Pours a hazy amber with a medium creamy/bubbly off white head that left lacing. Aroma of toasted cereal grains, banana, clove and Munich malt. Flavor of some wheat, banana, clove, Munich malt, bready and light smoke.

BEERGUY007 (206) - Scotia, New York, USA - MAR 29, 2008
This is an interesting one. Not really a fan of weissedoppelbocks, but this one was pretty good. It was sweet but not overly so. I did get the bready taste like with the pennant ale. It’s different, worth the try.

pamoja (57) - Rochester, New York, USA - OCT 4, 2007
Not a very drinkable beer. Strong aroma. Golden with white head. Citrus banana with nutty finish.

hazy orange, thin white head, rich sweet banana aroma, rich malt flavor, lots of chocolate covered banana, just the right amount of sweetness, light clove character starts to work its way through and begins to take over
