4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On draught pour at the meadery bar in Columbus, Ohio. Pours a clear Pinot gris colored still mead with a clean disk top and excellent viscosity tears. Aroma of light honey, dry yeast, a hint of dried floral and mild herbs. Taste is light bodied, slightly dry with flavors of light honey, some dried herbs and mild yeast. Finish is dry, crisp with little lingering yeast aftertaste. Dry meads are not my favorites, but after 20+ years of sampling dry meads, Brother Drake really came through in defining excellent dry meads.
This honey wine is heavy on the palette after taking a sip. The honey taste lasts quite awhile. None of us cared for this wine it didn’t really taste like a Riesling - too heavy and the aroma didn’t appeal to any of us either. The appearance was somewhat cloudy when compared to other white wines and other Rieslings. DialSquare (5112) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 24, 2016

Sampled on draft at the meadery this mead poured a very pale yellow color. The aroma was sweet and tangy with a strong tannin note. The flavor was semi sweet with tannin and oak notes. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Too much tannin for my taste.

draft at meadery, this tastes like everyone else base mead. Very thin, slightly off and sweetish. Some floral flavors inthere, but overall boring jsquire (4537) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - OCT 3, 2015
Straw colored out of the tap and still. Big flowery honey nose. Sweet honey mead with some pear notes. Nice full flavored honey mead. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 26, 2014
Taster on tap at the meadery. Totally translucent, kind of paler yellow color. Very nice spot-on wild flower honey aroma. Medium to bigger body. Kind of smooth, very light carbonation. More dry finish. Good moderate sweet taste, lightly dry finish, mild alcohol. Not as syrupy or sweet as most meads of this gravity are. Awesome mead, very nice and well done. b3shine (9025) - Indiana, USA - APR 26, 2014
Draft to taster at the meadery. Looks solid; a still and completely transparent light gold. Smells of good honey. Tastes like it smells, but not as robust. Decent on the palate. Not bad. JStax (6999) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - APR 14, 2013
Very pale gold pour. In the nose I get dried flower pedals and honey. Semi dry on the tongue. For the alcohol content, its dangerous. Very easy to drink.
