Oakes (17664) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 16, 2005
Bright amber colour. Toasty, woody aroma with a hint of toasty, toffeeish malts. A little spritziness takes away from the body and the expressiveness of the malt but otherwise it’s an evenly balanced, chewy, bitter, woody example.

Strawberry blonde, with a creamy, tight lacing that hung on tight. Smell: Very herbal and piney, I wouldn’t venture out to say Nugget or Chinook, and Pat the brewer didn’t want to name the types he used, but he did say it was a mix of West coast favorites. I don’t think it was cascade, not citrusy enough. It also had remnants of ripe red fruits...Taste: Just malty enough, discreet carbonation, smooth as silk, respectable hop prick that clings on the tongue and doesn’t let go. In a land not known for their IPAs, this one stands out.

Godlen ale with a good white head. Aroma of hops and clover field, resinous notes. Good malt base in mouth, with hops and grapefruits . Rich bodied. The other Brouemont classic.

Sample at the brewpub with MartinT, tiggmtl, Taktik_MTL. Bright, dark gold with a bit of lasting head...lovely citrusy nose with notes of apricot...solid bittersweet flavors with an excellent full body and earthy, bitter finish, perfect carbonation. The star of the show at Brouemont at the moment and one of the better Quebec IPAs I’ve had.

tiggmtl (4545) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 6, 2004
orange-resin-pine hop nose. Hazy, copper-orange with strong, white head that recedes to partial cover and laces well. Hops figure strongly in the flavour as well with decent balancing caramel maltiness. Medium body and creamy, smooth mouthfeel with decent carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with MartinT, muzzlehatch and Taktik_MTL.

En fût. Arôme: Odeur de fleurs, d’orange et de conifère. Apparence: Petit col qui reste longtemps. Couleur dorée foncée. Saveur: Explosion de houblon. Palette: Amertume avec une saveur qui reste en bouche. (Rating #13)

Clear amber color, thin white head. Powerfull floral hops aroma with caramel. Great flavor of floral hops, almonds and caramel. Lasting bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. It’s so good I had to have another glass of it.

MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 6, 2003
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2005 Oranges and peaches envelop muscular hops (Centennial?)...Earthy yeast mingles with round maltiness and squinting caramel warmly hugs the indigenous, strong hop bitterness of a typical West Coast IPA...The best of the regulars at this fun brewpub...
