sayravai (4707) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 25, 2008
(Bottled) Very dark ruby brown with a medium, firm and tanned, mostly fading head. Toffee-caramely aroma with some strawberries and dark fruit. Flavor of caramely, lightly roasted maltiness, dark fruit, low bitterness, hints of blackberry, slightly metallic finish. Medium-bodied, slicky palate, medium carbonation. Clearly some effort has been put into this, but the result is still quite dull and boring. I wonder why there are pictures of hops in the label, as I couldnt find any inside...

rauchbier (3846) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - DEC 24, 2006
Bottle from Tesco. Deep ruby brown, good lasting pale beige head and gentle condition. Pleasant sweet toffee roasted notes and smokiness in the nose, gentle sweet burnt toffee and low smokiness in the mouth but becoming oversweet and slightly cloying with time, sweet roasted earthiness and faint bitter edge in the finish but ultimately a little over balanced towards sweetness.
