Bottle 0,5l bought at Tesco Kensington Feb 08. Dark brown - almost black colored. A large creamy head when poured from a distance. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt & coffee. Well rounded roasted impression. Sweet bitter finish.

(Bottled) Very dark ruby brown with a medium, firm and tanned, mostly fading head. Toffee-caramely aroma with some strawberries and dark fruit. Flavor of caramely, lightly roasted maltiness, dark fruit, low bitterness, hints of blackberry, slightly metallic finish. Medium-bodied, slicky palate, medium carbonation. Clearly some effort has been put into this, but the result is still quite dull and boring. I wonder why there are pictures of hops in the label, as I couldn’t find any inside...

500ml bottle bought at Cornelius Beer and Wine in Edinburgh. Pours a deep, russet coloured topped by a light brown, frothy head. Both smell and taste have got a malty character, slightly roasted and moderately sweet. Medium bodied and soft carbonated [24.10.2008]

Pours reddish black with big beige head; aroma of roasted malt, hints of chocolate and coffee with strong sweet baked notes and touch of berries; medium body, quite a low carbonation; flavor is slightly roasted with touch of caramel sweetness and sourness of berries, mild bitterness in the finish.

AshtonMcCobb (7027) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 9, 2011
Pours opaque black with a decent cream head. The nose is a mixture of mild chocolate and biscuit flavours. The taste confirms that this is somewhere between a bitter and a stout. The palate is medium to rich in structure and texture and the finish is not bad - it kind of cleans. Overall, not bad but a bit ’caught between styles’ for me.
