Cask at the Tam O’Shanter, Dumfries. Gold, clear, with a fairly tight white head. Metallic, Burton-y sulphur smell. Taste is a slightly fruity astringency, leading to intense dryness in the finish. Leaves, butter, citrus and banana notes. Ambitious but doesn’t really hit the mark. mighty_meadow (308) - Kilwinning, SCOTLAND - MAR 6, 2015
Cask at the Salt Cot (JDW)
Very pale colour with small white head.
Fresh aroma rather than anything specific.
Taste is more kiwi and exotic fruit than citrus.
Slightly bitter finish.
Not as flavoursome as other Broughton ales but still decent enough. jamestulloch (4327) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 8, 2014

On tap t Cafe Royal.
Appearance - a dark golden with a nice head.
Nose - unfortunately a little bit of butterscotch and then some astringent malt.
Taste - more of the same. Some grapefruit eventually comes through.
Palate - medium bodied with a lack of refreshment generally.
Overall - not an IPA at least in the modern sense of the style.
