Cask at SRAF 2012. Pours golden amber, nose is dull toffee, taste is light fruit.

tombyars (1768) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - MAR 29, 2014
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) on the 28th March 2014. Cask, handpump dispense. Opaque amber with a creamy off white head. Very short aroma giving a faint whiff of green apple. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a distinct Madeira cake base with juicy marmalade fruit present in the mouth. Earthy hop resins impart a well balanced aftertaste which does not impinge on the malt. Slightly malty finish with an almond note present on the palate. A decent session Golden Ale and good to see JDW promoting Broughton Brewery at long last!

Oakes (18851) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 17, 2014
Golden colour. Earthy, fruity, lots of hops. earthy bitterness. Lots if fresh hop character but it’s a bit cheesy. Good, solid bitterness. This beer is one that benefits from its job - pounding a pint quickly - and performs relatively poorly when subjected to careful scrutiny.

Cask (handpump) @ The New Oxford, 11 Bexley Sq, Salford, Manchester, England M3 6DB.

Clear medium orange yellow color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, earthy notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130125]

stravale (3145) - Co. Westmeath, IRELAND - SEP 26, 2012
Cask @ JDW The Standing Order, Edinburgh
Light amber, crystal clear, thin white head, good lacing
Aroma - light citrus hops, soft pale fruits, hint of spicy hop
Taste as aroma...rather watery though
Palate - soft carb, thin and watery. Finish rather dry, bitter, breakfast ceral malts, bit of pepper, touch of bitter metal
Overall - Very light session ale, rather average but better than the poor Merlin’s Ale I had

Cask conditioned handpump Blacksmiths Arms St Albans 03/08/12. A blonde beer with a white head and lacing. Sharp floral hopping which are quite pleasing. A nice citrussy finish. A tasty golden with good hop levels.
