Thick syrupy, very full bodied, almost like an IIPA. Some citrus and caramel notes. Not great balance, not great depth, but ok. Kinda what barely wines were commonly like 10 years ago. Ok.

2011 vintage. Pours a dark amber with a thin white ring of foam that leaves some lacing. Aroma is composed of hot alcohol and brown sugar. Taste is sweet, almost too sweet. A nice and clean bitterness saves it, though. Flavors of maple syrup, brown sugar and booze. A bit hot even with 2 years on it. Body is medium-full and mouthfeel is sticky. Carbonation level is low. OK

Bottle 341 ml shared by Minderbinder, thanks! 2009 vintage. Pours deep amber-caramel bown. Sugery notes, along with dark fruits. Not too heavy. Good BW, wondering if it has upgraded in four years (Ive never drank this one before).

Bottle (341 ml). 2009 vintage. Shared by Minderbinder, thanks! Clear deep amber with no head and a small ring of off-white foam. Aroma of malt, caramel, fainted hops, fruits, alcohol, candi and toffee. Taste is moderately sweet with fruits, toffee, candi, caramel, alcohol and floral notes. Medium to full body. Light carbonation. Sirupy mouthfeel. Decent Barley Wine. Maybe a little over the hill.

Bottled sample via Fred82. Deep amber in colour with low carbonation. Aromas are of fat pale malts, booze, candied and stewed fruits, and caramel. Quite full bodied on the palate, with flavours of dark caramel, pale malts, candied orange peel, minerals, and a hint of spice. Pretty well balanced, but a touch boozy. The mouthfeel is a bit unique as it is quite slick, but the beer itself isnt sweet or cloying. Solid.

330ml bottle - shared by the Quebec posse in Lithuania - thanks!
Super sweet aroma, worryingly so. Rich reddy orange, no head. In the mouth its incredibly full. Totally sweet but has an amazing yumminess to it too. The rocket fuel booze aspect is "hidden" behind the enormous sugariness. Also has enough hops to cut through that and with a cut-mixed-peel feel make it more liqueur-like.
