Rated on 7-18-2017. This bottled beer’s appearance consists of a small tan fizzy head that mostly diminished, mostly opaque dark brown body with a red tint, fast rising carbonation observed, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is dark fruit, dark malt, caramel, brown sugar, sweet, toffee, and lightly roasted. The flavor is dark fruit, dark malt, brown sugar, toffee, caramel, moderately sweet, and a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is lively carbonation and this beer is light-medium bodied. A tasty sipping beer for the style. It has an enjoyable malt taste to it that I enjoyed. This beer is worth trying and it is a beer that I would drink again.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a head of foamy fine to medium sized light brown colored bubbles that were very quickly diminishing and left behind no visible carbonation opaque black brown colored body and a poor lacing. The weak aroma was black malt and vinous. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a burning malty aftertaste. The good flavor contained notes of black malt and mildly vinous. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Bottle - purple pour - minimal head - nose of fig, caramel, treacle, plum, cherry, mild oxidation - moderate carbonation - sweet up front, with a lot of caramelized sugars, but not cloying - dark fruit through the middle, followed by some medium-full yeast expression - dust, cobweb, a swelling spiciness that becomes strong, but not overpowering in the finish - light oxidation on the tail end - not bad.

Bottle. Pours amber with small white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is candy sugar, yeast, fruity malt. Light malt with strong candy sugar, boozy, yeast, light dryness, ok.

Tasting at Josh’
Brown color, flat look, a few sparse bubbles. A bit malty, bit the kind of stake malt; the flavor is better than the aroma because it has a nice presence of raisins.
Decent, not impressive.

Cloudy light brown, brown sugar and light smoke. Raisins, light brown sugars, and a touch of caramelized fruits.

500mL bottle, pours a deeper reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma is super fruity, with caramel, stone fruits, and a some cough syrup. Flavour is fairly boozy, with caramel, dark fruits, and loads of alcohol. Rather not even for a quad - but it’s not really too detracting, other than losing complexity. Interesting stuff. Nice.

Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a grape glow and a very thin tan head. Aroma of alcohol, roasted malt, pit fruits, raisins, figs, cedar and a touch of grain. Full-bodied; Assertive grain flavour with a bit of caramel and a lot of pit fruits, but the whiskey and alcohol flavour comes through a lot, with a deep strong and bitter finish. Aftertaste shows mostly sweet flavours from the prunes, figs and pit fruits, but the alcohol and okay/cedar flavour also shows through. Overall, a strong beer with some good flavours, but perhaps too deep and pungent with not enough complexity for the style. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 08-November-2014 for US8,25 sampled at home on Mother’s Day (for Mor/Mor, which of course in Norwegian - and probably other languages, is Grandmother) in 2015 - on 10-May-2015.

Poured from bottle, pours a murky brown with an off white head, aroma is very sweet with lots of dark fruit and caramel coming through, the flavor has a very sweet candy sugar front end with a malty finish, kind of a thin mouthfeel.

Pours a nice dark hazy reddish-brown with a light tan head. Aroma is malty but very "hot" smelling from the alcohol. Flavor matches with a bit of caramel and butterscotch. I’d like to try this again after is has been aged.
