on tap-pours a diminishing off whit head and amber color. Aroma is English hops, medium malt. Taste is bitter English hops-spicy, woody, medium malt-caramel, fruity. Medium body. Grainy mouth feel. Nice. OK carbonation. JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 24, 2007
Tap at HDG. Light amber colour and a thin but persistent beige head. Low aroma, sweet toffee and brown malt. Caramel a touch of toast and light chocolate. Earthy hops but with low aroma and bitterness. Sweet palate. As the beer warms, the hops pick up a bit, but it’s more light brown than ESB... I preferred the pils. Tap at TAP NY: Pours a copper color with a thin bubbly head. Earthy hop aroma with a rolled oat character; crisp. Thin body with a subdued hop flavor. There’s not enough malt to fill out the body either. The finish is a light bitterness. This is a more aromatic than flavorful ESB. Not too great. ABUSEDGOAT (2756) - California, USA - AUG 27, 2005
UPDATED: AUG 28, 2005 Tap @ brewpub: overly carbonated amber body with a hoppy aroma with caramel. Flavor is the same, finishes bitter and watery. Sregnar35 (1030) - Rotterdam, New York, USA - JUN 27, 2005
Not too bad, had this on tap at the brew house in Troy. It’s only slightly bitter, but it’s very drinkable.

Beautiful amber color with a white head that elaves a thick lacing on the glass. Taste is slightly bitter with, strangely enough, a lemon character. There is very little carbonation, which does not suit my tastes, as it leaves it with a lifeless watery body.
