Pours dark - nearly black, pretty much opaque. Sparse lacing. Probably would foam up a little better if it weren't served too cold, just like they do at damn near every brew joint in the USA. Christ, people! Stouts should be closer to 50 degrees!
Nose is faintly malty, hinting at what might come out of it if they didn't freeze the beer as if it were Budweiser and you need frozen taste buds to be able to stomach it. Taste is reasonably balanced, but there's a peculiar metallic note in the aftertaste.
Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Decent brew.

Pours a black brown color with a tan head that disipates quickly leaving almost no lacing. Flavors a burnt coffee, tobacco, a little licorice and roasted barley with just a hint of the oatmeal. Not a bad beer, but somewhat weak mouth feel for a stout very watery which lets the flavor wash right by.

On Tap at the brewery in Troy, NY. Pours dark brown with long lived off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of caramel malt, dark fruit and cacao. Body is full, creamy and smooth. Caramel malt, vanilla, coffee, brown sugar, dark fruit, sherry and hint of hops combine on the palate. Finish is long and semi-dry.
