On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear cola brown with a thin to medium sized tan head. Slightly vegetal with some clay and wet earth, roast. Medium bodied, plastic and roast. Roast and bitterness on the finish. Weird.

Cocoa chocolate aroma and flavor. A bit on the bitter side but has a slight sweet maltiness. Not as full bodied a some porters and a slight lagerish funk to the finish. Still not a bad Porter. Very drinkable and has some nice character. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone anders37 (26216) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 15, 2012
Bottle @ Chriso. Pours a dark amber brown color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty caramel aroma. Roasted malty sweetish chocolate and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel finish. Theydon_Bois (19199) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 4, 2012
Bottle at Chriso tasting, thanks Chris, 18/11/12.
Mahogony brown with a thin tan head that soon clears to the edge.
Nose is sweet toffee, sugars, molasses.
Tastes as nose, too sweet not enough balance, malt seems lacking for a porter. Toffee, sugars, a little tobacco.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation with a roasted sweet finish.
Another rare US beer for the ’W’ cupboard!

Bottle at Chriso Tasting, London. Thanks to Chris - my first Troy tick? Pours rich brown iwth a fine, brown cream head. Dark bready malt nose, hints of diacetyl. Light sweet flavor with toasty bread, some toffee, light earth. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Modest dryness to finish with further earth and toast. OK beer. yespr (44807) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2012

Draught. Dark brown pour. Not a ton of head. Malty and light smoke. Decent but thats it justabeergeek (225) - Albany, New York, USA - MAR 30, 2012
Deep brown/black, minimal head. Chocolate and roasted malt are present here in quantity. There are some burnt notes, a touch of vanilla, and a bit of hops. A solid porter, which is often compared (unfairly) to its big brother, the Whiskey Porter. A worthy pint, for sure. beerbill (3616) - Laurel, New York, USA - JUN 24, 2011
On draught at the brewpub. Arrived at the table a dark brown with a thin light brown head that lasted through the first two sips and left partial lace. Mild aroma of chocolate and just a bit of roasted malt. Thankfully, more flavorful than the aroma suggests with ample roasted malt and just a hint of chocolate. There is some mild roast bitterness at the finish. Smooth and lightly carbonated, which I enjoyed. Good porter.
