COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chocenbrouwer is a voluptuously bodied Porter made with Brambling Cross, Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, Citra and Cascade hops and various caramelized and toasted malts. Conditioning on organic Peruvian cocoa nibs by Chocolatemakers adds the deepness to its unshakable character. We think it is the ideal Breakfast Porter. They are the only cereals you need in the morning for a day of philosophic deliberations about the pursuit of hoppiness. Malts:Pale, Caramalt, Crystal, Chocolate, Roasted Barley Hops:Brambling Cross, Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, Citra, Cascade Yeast:US-05

At a tasting, thanks, small creamy head, deep brown color, aroma of toasted bread and charred wood with a toasted hint and a chocolate whiff in the back, chocolate and metal flavor with some graininess and a strong sourness. Not that good.

Bottle, [email protected] Pours deep black with a small, creamy beige film head. Aroma has deep chocolate, mild roasted, oats, coffee. Medium carbonation, fine dry and fairly creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has oats aplenty, mild coffee, chocolate. A bit short finish. Otherwise a fine porter.

Bottle @ Tap Zuid. The aroma has chocolate, roast. Dark coloured beer with an off-white, thin head. The taste is roasty, has chocolate. Light bodied, but full enough for a little creamy mouthfeel. Nice.

Thank you for sharing people! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ “Gouda Winterbier Festival 2016”. Dark brown, little tanned head. Nose is sweet mocha, warming, burned toast, cacao. Taste is watery sugar, weak herbs, burned toast, cacao, licorice. Rather sugary & watery. Too watery for me, not sure what happened here looking at the great score.
