Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Bottle from E.Leclerc Supermarket, Grasse, France. Bright amber coloured with a large foamy white head. It has a rich spicy red fruit and banana flavour with earthy notes followed by almond and hints of dried fruit and candi sugar on the smooth, warming finish. Pretty nice.

Golden, clear color. White 3 fingers head dimnishing. Small lacing. Aroma of cereal, banana, apples, later caramel. Dry taste. Light to medium body, average carbonation. Watery texture. Dry, bitter-sour, medium lasting aftertaste. Little bit spicy and sour. Smth is missing

Bottle from JSG Wine Merchants, Hills Road, Cambridge. Somewhere between dirty blond and light brown. A lovely whitish head on top and plenty of carbonation. Gummy caramel aroma, some barley sugar, some plastic. Taste is overly sweet but has a nice yeasty umami about it. Some leafy hop on the finish, slightly vegetal aftertaste. Fully carbonated, thin to medium body. Pretty average.

Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer is deep golden/amber colored and pours a large and stable white head, with rich carbonation. The aroma is malty with tones of caramel, dark fruits and hint of wood and coriander. Taste is light to medium bodied, little sweet and very fruity with a hoppy bitterness. The finish is sweet and light bitter.

A rather tasty Amber Ale. It is more sour and lively aroma than most other Amber Ale’s. Nice texture and great hops!

Bottle supplied by J. Halket. Pours light straw with pale head. Very thirst quenching when watching England in World Cup rugby. Reminds me of the old Stella.

Poured a lovely clear golden colour with a long lasting head. Has slight hints of honey with a slight bitter aftertaste. Somewhat disappointing, won’t be in a hurry to have again.
