COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Pretty basic, although I feel this is under rated. Nice light murky color and a billowing head. Too bad it gave off a weak aroma. Another day, another rating.

Nice orange-red colour with a strong off-white head. Really nice aroma of malt and caramel, which led me to anticipate a similar warming flavour - but it just wasn’t there. The body is light and watery, and the flavour holds barely a hint of what the aroma suggests. No great finish to speak of either. A real disappointment.

(28Dec2002--330mL bottle) Hmm...if you could take an American macrobrew and "Belgianize" it, Bruegel might result. OK, it’s not that bad. Starts with a frothy, styrofoam-like head, coarse bubbles, no lace, and persistent. The beer is cloudy with a reddish tint. Aroma dominated by yeast (bread). Highly effervescent; disturbingly so. If you like to belch, this beer is for you. Otherwise, the flavor is almost non-existent. Sour and zingy, with a bit of wheat and yeast. Without the excess carbonation, it would be a decent ale.

Murky orange in colour. Malty, light caramel aroma. Flavour is slightly sweet and hoppy. Finishes slightly bitter and light. Really simple.

Has a cloudy appearance with particles floating around in it. Very nice flavour, Slightly bitter. Creamy head. Very nice

bierkoning (13392) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - DEC 7, 2002
Beer gushes out of the bottle while opening. Thick, creamy off-white head. Hoppy aroma with citrus. Cloudy appearance. Hoppy, citric flavor with a hint of metal, some yeast and licorice.

Drinkingdan (375) - East Norriton, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 27, 2002
Nice head and very sweet. Yeasty and malty. Make sure it is room temp. other wise it looses all flavor.

Radek Kliber (7369) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - NOV 24, 2002
Winter touched raspberry joined together with may flowers; it is missing something, aroma of Belgium? Friendly appearance, light dull amber with fast disappearing white head. Yes, this one can wake up your tongue fast, sharp flavour, a bit watery feel. It gave me impression that it was diluted in ratio 2:3.

DaSilky1 (2606) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 21, 2002
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2003 poured amber with a nice white head, aroma was of nutty/alcoholic tartness, fizzy to say the least, sweet alcohol/subtle cherriness...sparkling loveliness, subtle but spectacular...

3.2
bender (293) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - NOV 17, 2002
Oily residue in the finish. Straw color, white head. Nice lacing. Nice hop balance. On the acidic (phenol) side for a Belgian.
