COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If you’re looking for a beer that tastes like grandma’s cooking, look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for a beer that is jam-packed with nostalgia, you’ve come to the right place. Ruebarb is an oak-aged sour blonde ale with red raspberries and rhubarb. Bright berry kernels break and give way to a tart, jammy sweet flavor. Mildly bitter herbal and floral notes accompany the raspberry-rhubarb combo as it alternates between sweet and sour. Beer and dessert have never tasted better together.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle.
Aroma is very fruity with large raspberry and rhubarb notes. Light oak notes with a bit of citrus and acidity. Raspberry is more prevalent upfront, but then the rhubarb takes over and hides the raspberry.
Pours a slightly hazy, pinkish red with a slight orange hue an a medium large, fairly thick, slightly pink head that steadily recedes to the edges where it lingers. No lacing or legs.
Flavor is fairly acidic but not super sharp. Light citrus notes with quite a bit of rhubarb. Lighter raspberry notes with a bit of oak. Light tannins. Faint malt notes.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a nice sour. It reminds me a lot of Windowsill which was a great beer. The raspberry and rhubarb work well together. The light malt presence adds a nice, light complexity as does the oak.

750mL at a tasting. Hazy pink color with white foam. Funky raspberry nose, bright and seedy. Taste is bubbly up front, medium sharp acid, big lemon, prickly, nice and clean. No acetic acid and dialed back citric acidity. Fruitiness could be a bit more forward.

June 10, 2016 - bottle from my membership. Dark orange pour with some head. Aroma was sweet fruity, then tart and the oak comes in late. Taste was nicely balanced with the flavors noted in aroma.

PartyFowle (954) - - MAY 23, 2016
Nice little nose: rhubarb, cranberry, strawberry, bright green oak, a bass line of haylike funk. Flavor has more of the rhubarb, a bigger earthy presence, mid-palate vanilla, moderate vinegar acidity that lingers long after the swallow. Decent flavor blend, but a little too high on tartness and a little lacking in depth.

750ml bottle pours a pale pink color with a lot of head. Raspberry cordial aroma. Nice sour/funk balance. Jammy raspberry.
