COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sour ale aged in an Oak Foeder with Hibiscus, Passion Fruit and Raspberry with Spices Added.
This is the kind of beer that both puts a spring in your step and transports you to island time. Wiki Wiki Tart is a sour ale thats equal parts tropical, fruity, floral and funky. The ensemble of hibiscus, passion fruit and raspberries pluck harmonic notes, beginning with the passionate pink color and continuing through to its puckering flavor profile. Couple that with the soft touch of wheat, oak and complimentary island-esque spices, and you wouldnt dream of trading places with anyone else (unless theyre sharing this beer with you but wearing a better Hawaiian shirt).

750 ml bottle shared by AdamChandler. Pink in color, lots of fizzy carbonation. Aroma is mostly sour passion fruit with a mild flower note.

Upfront it has moderate passionfruit, oak, lemon juice, and tart raspberry. Hibiscus is more just a dried flower note. Has a acidic aftertaste. This has almost everything I dislike about sour ales in general. Not enjoyable for my tastes.

The Fourth Beer of my #6000 celebration (#4 of 13 - six beers on either side of 6000 and the milestone itself). Exploding bottle when you first crack it with a ton of bubbles rising out. Nice crisp peach, copper and light pink coloured body with a large tan head, thats about four centimetres tall at first that fades like a soda to absolutely nothing a few seconds later. Aroma of sour grapes, light funk, gueuze, yeast and a ton of citrus - very little else and not much like a typical beer. Light-bodied; Assertive effervescence; Strong sour flavours at first with raspberries, lemons, grain and a touch of funk noticeable without much malt, depth or any hops whatsoever. Aftertaste is more of the tart and sour notes that were front and centre before with the raspberries, lemons and oranges that are noticeable along with a touch of tropical fruitiness and hint of yeast. Overall, a decent beer, but not showing enough complexity or depth that youd expect from the style or any malt at all - this is mild and tart for sure, but it takes away from the beer as a whole. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Trader Joes in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 19-October-2016 for US$9,99 sampled at home in Washington on 07-March-2017. 2016 Bottle // Purchased: 19-October-2016 // Sampled: 07-March -2017

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is fruity with quite a bit of passion fruit and some lighter raspberry. Some medium light hibiscus notes. Faint oak and citrus notes with some light grain notes. I dont really pick up the spices, just the floral and fruit notes. Pours a fairly clear, bright, red-orange with a medium large to large, somewhat thin, frothy, rocky, off-white, pinkish head that recedes quickly and disappears. No lacing or legs. Flavor has a moderately strong acidity, slightly sharp with some faint sweetness and light grain notes. Light raspberry notes with a bit of passion fruit. medium light hibiscus notes. Some light citrus and pineapple notes. Faint oak notes. Light spicy phenolic notes, but its hard to distinguish and identify them. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a good beer but not a great one. It feels like it is missing something, but I cant put my finger on it. Perhaps its a bit thin and sharply acidic which gives it a bit of a watery note?

Sampled from 750ml bomber and shared by Bacterial. Pours a hazy yellowish orange colored brew with an average sized off-white head that quickly dissipates and leaves behind minimal lacing and a clean disk top. Aroma of hard pitted fruits, a hint of berries, golden grain malt and some cream. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of peach, hard pitted fruits and some wheat. Finish has a mild tart aftertaste followed by some tropical fruit character.
