Great Taste of the Midwest, 2015. Orange color. Moderate head, not sweet like so many tripels. Alcohol is a prominent flavor here, and it reminds me of Westmalle in that regard. Some light spice; grains of paradise maybe? A little sweet malt in the finish.

bomber into large snifter. Large white head after the pour but then settes, golden yellow and clear. Aroma is lemons, yeast, grass. Taste is slightly sweet malt, very tart, lost of yeast, bitter in finish. A little too heavy on the yeast for my liking.

6oz on tap at Twenty Tap. Clear kind of darker orange color. Thin ring of off-white head. Some dots and bits of lace. Bigger body, kind of slick, definitely thicker. Lighter carbonation. Caramel, belgian candy sugar, some dried fruit. Moderate sweet taste, lightly spicy light bitterness, light alcohol warmth. Decent amber-tripel. Fun to try.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2009 Lasting white ring covers a clear golden body. Yeast heavy aroma shows strong estery character, bringing obvious banana and pear notes. Fresh honeyed cereals proliferate on the palate while hay-like flavours never manage to dry the beer out. Instead, a weighty herbal character grows with every sip, in a intoxicating way combined with the high ethanol component. A very heady triple, perhaps a bit too hot for its own good. /////////// Now from the 750 mL bottle. Very very yeasty, but well-hopped, flowery and lemony tripel with strong banana esters and a gentle sourdough tartness. Authentic Belgian texture. Score would drop to 3.0

Amber pour with a white head. Aroma of pale bread, hops and fruit. Taste is light with a small alcohol bite. Masks the 11% alcohol well without getting too dark with the malts.

Bomber. Straightforward, plain vanilla tripel with an off-taste in the finish. Hazy, deep gold body. Big white head, mostly lasting. Sweet aroma with notes of pears, bread and spice. Hint of lemon. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly bitter. The overly sweet flavor and spice seem disjointed, resulting in an aftertaste that is not satisfying, but also is not a deal-breaker. Medium body, watery to smooth texture and moderate carbonation.
