Bottle at the Red Lion, Histon. Golden, light and clear. There’s a big white head at first which dissipates quickly. Smells a bit of sweet spice and honey, bug for a Tripel there’s not much aroma at all. Balanced bittersweet taste, with a spicy yeasty note up front. Sharp bittering hop in the finish. Heavy carbonation, which works for this beer. Needs more flavour, but I enjoyed it well enough all in all.

Bottled, 330 ml. Opal golden colour, bigger sized white pillow on it, which leaves a thin film behind. Spicy, fruity nose. Aroma has bread, citrusses, herbs and raised pie, mouthfeel is slick to syrupy. Warming, citric, spicy finish. Overall nice.

Marstonlad (890) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 15, 2017
UPDATED: JUN 16, 2017 Bottle at Janoinen Lohi, Helsinki. Pours fairly clear golden with a huge frothy head. The aroma features grainy maltiness, citrus fruits and spices; fairly malt-driven. Taste is medium sweet, displaying maltiness, fruitiness and spiciness. Flavours of grain, hay, bread, honey, spices. The palate is medium to full bodied, sticky and average to high in carbonation. Fairly sweet for a tripel, lacks rich fruitiness and spiciness that tripels usually have.

The Etruscan (685) - Tuscany, ITALY - MAY 14, 2017
White creamy head. Deep golden colour. Aroma is malty with bread, cereals, light fruity (apple) and hoppy notes. Flavor is moderately malty with fruity (apple and pear) and spicy tones, ending in a fruity finish. Medium bodied.

simontomlinson (374) - Blackburn, Lancashire, ENGLAND - MAY 1, 2017
Huge, pure white frothy head stayed well on a hazy orange coloured body. Fruity citrus & orange aroma. Soft on the palate, highly carbonated but also smooth. Sweet citrus, orange, yeast, spice & cardamom.

Moebbels (800) - FINLAND - APR 26, 2017
Gruut version. A clear golden beer with a well lasting large white head. Mild nose with spicy and herbal aromas. Sweet honey-like flavor with a smooth lingering bitter aftertaste. High carbonation and medium palate. Decent simple tripel with nice balance but pretty dull aromas and yeast character.

bonkiedeaap (763) - Leerdam, NETHERLANDS - APR 16, 2017
Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel Belgium. The beer is golden blonde colored and has a large and stable white head with nice carbonation. The aroma is malty and fruity, with notes of caramel, dried fruits, honey, yeast and a nice mixture of spices (mostly coriander) and a hint of alcohol. Taste is medium to full bodied and has a light sweetness with malts, fruits, caramel and honey and becomes bitter with spices and yeast. The finish is light bitter and dry with some alcohol. A little too spicy, but an oké Tripel.
