Dark brown and unfiltered. Relatively faint caramel nose. Smooth dark malts - light toffee, hint if roast. Good clean if simple dark lager. DuffMan (10436) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 12, 2014
Bottle, served with the lamb course at Frederik V, Reykjavik. Medium amber brown, tan head that recedes to a clingy ring. Malty, bready aroma and flavour, dark caramel. Medium sweetness without much bitterness. Decent enough. Imaena (2327) - Maputo, MOZAMBIQUE - SEP 19, 2014
Draught at Kaldi Bar Reykjavik. This is dark bready brew that has some decent flavors but it is lacking in real malt depth. Travlr (24930) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - FEB 28, 2015

Tap at Islenski. Pours clear brown with a medium, creamy beige head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is toast and light chocolate malt with dates and earthy hops. Flavor is toast and light chocolate notes, light hops and bitterness, dark fruits and a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation. NoiZe (2323) - Zeist, NETHERLANDS - SEP 7, 2007
Amber, brown colored brew. Bit fruity and malty. Sweet flavor and a bit bitterness in the end. Not too bad, not too interesting. aracauna (3609) - Georgia, USA - FEB 1, 2010
Heavy carbonation. Large pssht when I crack open the cap, and the beer booms into a big foam when it hits the glass. Head is slow to die and easily revived with a light swirl. There’s not a lot of flavor going on, but in the back there is a bit of toasted almost-hazlenut. This really isn’t a bad beer. Derek881 (1272) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 23, 2010
Poured this beer from a bottle into a pint glass to drink. It had a dark, clear amber-brown color with a good-sized creamy tan head that had good retention and slight cling. The beer had a malty aroma with scents of caramel and coffee, and a bit of grainy hops. The taste was fairly sweet with a good coffee taste with touches of chocolate and caramel and a very slight bitterness. It had a fairly creamy, smooth body with light carbonation and a low amount of carbonation. thornecb (5920) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 25, 2011
Pours mahogany into a shaker. Dark caramel aromas. Dry with dark caramel and a lasting fruity finish.
