Brugse Zot Dubbel is a dark brown beer, inclining towards ruby red. It is brewed with six special varieties of malt, which give the beer a rich and distrinctive aroma. One can discover the scent of honey, almonds, chocolate and brown sugar. By using the Czech Saaz hop from Zatec, the beer has a complex palate of roasted malts and a distrinctive flavour. Brugse Zot Dubbel is known to leave a warm glow in the mouth with a bitter and hoppy finish, leaning towards liquorice and coffee roast. Bottle conditioned.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, sugar, Saaz hops, yeast.

33 cL into Brugse Zot glass at Verloren Hoek in Brugge. Dark brown, large bubbly creamy head. Very sweet, caramelly, hint of chocolate, very smooth, and a touch oily. Sweet caramel aroma. Only drawback is that its a bit too sweet. Warming, slightly boozy.

Red in colour. Smells sweet. Has a slight metallic twang in the smell and taste. Fruity, quite yeasty. Enjoyed it but not particularly keen to try again.

Dark ruby brown...off white bubbly head that disispates to rim around glass
Aroma - Bready yeast...dark fruit...raisins...hint of port...not complex
Taste - Caramel malts...bread...dark fruits...raisins...dark berries...hint of spices....not all that complex
Palate - High carb....over fizzy...thin to medium body...champagne feel in mouth...carbonation overcomes the flavours somewhat. Finish...dry...rapid....bit dull....slight bitter linger and warming alcohol.
Overall - Not as good as other Dubbels ive tried.

Di un bel color mogano con schiuma beige, al naso principalmente cioccolato e leggera frutta. In bocca sempre la parte cioccolatosa a dominare, ma anche i lieviti si fanno sentire. Non male comunque.
