Bottle; Unfiltered. Keg.
Brugse Zot Dubbel is a dark brown beer, inclining towards ruby red. It is brewed with six special varieties of malt, which give the beer a rich and distrinctive aroma. One can discover the scent of honey, almonds, chocolate and brown sugar. By using the Czech Saaz hop from Zatec, the beer has a complex palate of roasted malts and a distrinctive flavour. Brugse Zot Dubbel is known to leave a warm glow in the mouth with a bitter and hoppy finish, leaning towards liquorice and coffee roast. Bottle conditioned.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, sugar, Saaz hops, yeast.

Well crafted, balanced Dubbel, with its sweet elements and brown appearance.

On tap at the brewery. deep red burgundy color with a creamy offwhite head, persistent, lacing. Aroma is juicy with berries, roasted malts, spruce resin, fresh wood and noble hops. Taste is sharp, balanced, juicy. Pleasant sweet tones washes away by gentle bitter and delicately sour aftertaste. Long aromatic finish. High carbonation, medium to full body. Nice dubbel, pleasing.

Leicht trübes Rotbraun mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Malzig, Röstaromen, süßlich, etwas Karamell, würzig, leicht alkoholisch.

At Delaney’s, Bruges. On International Beer Day (August 4). Pours hazy brown with a lasting, small, tan head. The aroma contains roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice, dark fruits, caramel, a bit of iron. It tastes medium sweet and light bitter with a light sweet finish. Medium body, slick, bit sticky texture, fizzy carbonation. Nothing special, but passed the minimal expectations. I prefer it over the blonde brother.
