In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

LCI. Uit de fles geschonken. Lekker Belgisch blondje, moutig met war citrus, fris met een licht zoetje. Niet slecht, niet geweldig.

A fairly good Belgian Ale. Good from the bottle, and also good from tap in Bruges.

JaKeAFC (1307) - ITALY - AUG 26, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2017 On tap at the brewery, this is the unfiltered one. Light Orange/Golden color, hazed, white head which fades a bit quickly, yet lingering, not much lacing. Aroma is citrusy, quite hoppy, with clean malts backing. Taste is light sour, mild bitter, refreshing, balanced with sugars and yeast. High carbonation, light to medium body, creamy texture. Finish is half smooth half dry. Very clean, cutting, spiced. (Maybe there was a misunderstanding so at first i got the bottled one which was clear and much sharper, all those on the other taee were unfiltered. Or, i just hit the top of a new keg = 3.6)

Les notes suffisent, trop difficile d’en faire un description, les autres le font mieux que moi. J’ai passé un très bon moment à la déguster, c’est tout ce qui compte!

Bottle. Amber gold color. Sweet aroma, malt and lollipops, dried fruit, cheese. Sweetish taste, malt, dried pear and apple, a bit hoppy finish.
