In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Vronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

On bottle from Vinmonopolet in Norway, on order. Clear golden color, good foam. Medium aroma intensity; honey, fruitiness, nice yeast influence. Medium body & complexity. Some sweetness, ok balance. Enjoyable, but a bit bland

Florals and some coriander. Malt doesnt mesh in with hops and yeast like a net exactly, but the beer is decent. Hazy orange pour with ok initial head. Bottle.

Tried this from a bottle in Bruges. Reminds me a lot of a wheat beer both in appearance and flavour. Highly recommended for its refreshing taste.

Bottle. Apple juice and pilsner malt aroma with hay and a faint musty note. Hazy yellow amber under a persistent white blanket. Apple juice and light phenolic flavour with lemon and esters of banana and bubblegum. Almost assertive bitterness combines with carbonic bite from high carbonation. Light body, crisp.
