In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

Not quite clear yellow pour with a shit load of foam on top. Yeast, malts and wet dog smell. Malts and some fruity esters and mild bitter finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Lovely drinkable Belgian beer.

BeerNinjaUK (488) - Wiltshire, ENGLAND - OCT 13, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 13, 2017 Bottle from Marks and Spencer. Pours pale amber with pillowy head. Aroma light with some citrus, spruce, slightly herbal and fresh. Taste doesn't linger - clean finish.

Bottle, pours pale golden brown with a very light haze and a billowy white head. Aroma is medium malt, floral hop with citrus hints. Light body, nice airy palate, slightly oily texture. Finish is on the sweet side but with nice bittering balance. Simple, but well done.

Vrij middelmatig blond bier. beetje kruidig, lichtbitter, lichtzoet (honing).

Parmenion777 (354) - Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 5, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 5, 2017 Pours a clear golden colour with a large thick ladting white head. A bready, yeasty aroma, some caramel and ripe banana and citrus notes. A moderately light sweet bready malt taste, medium bodied, caramelized banana flavours with a light dryness in the finish. 737315 3.4
