In 2005 Xavier Vanneste, son of Mrs Véronique Maes, renovated and restarted the old brewery which had been in the family since 1856. He launched Brugse Zot, a new beer with a unique recipe. Today Brugse Zot is the only beer brewed in Bruges’ town centre!
The people of Bruges are known as "Brugse Zotten" (Bruges Fools), also known as "Brugse Jonckers"

Bottle. Pours golden, good foamy head. Smells of malts, fruits and hops. Taste starts sweet, a good bit of bitter kicks in and finishes sweet-ish, more fruity and malts. Nice balance between sweet and hoppy bitter.

Gezapft im t’Brugs Beertje in Brüssel. Golden und klar, fester Schaum. Aroma: Hopfen, etwas Zitrone. Cremiger Antrunk. Erst mal unauffällig, etwas bitter, Malz, Nuancen von Karamell, sanft. Etwas frucht.

Colore giallo torbido, schiuma compatta e persistente.

At tap at Halve Maan (unfiltered). Quite bitter and hoppy blond. Creamy, smooth body. Floral tones and citrus fruits. Quite good!

Licht donker troebel bier, licht zoet met een iets bittere afdronk. Smaakt een beetje metalig. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at brussels. Cear yellow colour small white head. Nose is industrial ale. Taste is low sourness no bitterness at all. Feels like a lager. Watery finish. Ehh.

bytemesis (8357) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUN 14, 2017
Tap. Pours clear Amer, medium creamy white head, dispatched slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is light, floral, grassy hops, Belgian spice. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter. Light plus body. Clean and drinkable Belgian ale.

blackmetal (236) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 1, 2017
Has some spicy notes but flat? Feels scaled down but yet still has soapy notes.

dimeon (313) - Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA - MAY 30, 2017
A: Dark straw with a medium-large white head. N: Sweet malts with a hint of spice. T: Malt complexity upfront. Slightly sweet, but restrained by mild bitterness. Coriander emerges as the lead player in a spice medley. P: Medium to full O: Excellent Belgian blonde
