Aroma is roasted malts with dark fruits like plum, raisins and some apple. Light clove and yeastiness. Taste is akin to Aroma with a full roast and sweet body. Light yeastiness and clove bitterness on tip. Appearance is an attractive clear amber with a fluffy medium beige head that retains very well.

Poured from an 11 OZ bottle into a chalice at the World of Beer in Pooler, GA. Has a fairly nice wheat and spice aroma. The appearance is a cloudy brown color a small tan colored head. The flavor is nice, you can detect a hint of cinnamon and there is no aftertaste. Overall, this is a nice beer. first time I have ever had this beer.

11.2 oz single bottle, a bit of a gusher, from Molly’s Spirits. Brown appearance with a fully dissipating tan head. Dark fruits, earthy yeast, caramel malt, anise and light chocolate in the nose. Similar flavor with a medium body. A solid dubbel overall. Pairing: Medeski, Martin & Wood - Hypnotized, from Combustication

Bottle @ home. Ramata, carica tendente al marrone schiuma beige scura, fine poco persistente. Aroma intenso, caramello, liquirizia, tostato. Gusto abboccato all’ingresso, amaro quasi solo da tostatura, si ritrovano liquirizia e caramello. Calda, rotonda, equilibrata ed armonica.

Fatehunter (2567) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - MAY 28, 2015
Pours two fingers of head on a dark brown body. The aroma is earthy, roasted malt, toast and caramel. The taste is fairly sweet: dark ripe fruits and caramel mostly. The texture is crisp and fizzy. Enjoyable.

2.9
VertBaconStrips (2389) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - MAR 10, 2015
Reacquired a craving for this style after drinking a couple of Westy 8’s last night. Hearty aroma of raisins, fruit cake, plum, caramel, mixed in red licorice and a slight spice. Surprised at the caramel content. It tastes very different than I would have assumed. Similar flavour with a short spicy build up. Mellow licorice, raisin, nutmeg, creme, chocolate, yeasty. Comes across dull on half the sips. Drinking it faster actually improves the flavor. Doesn’t quite work but at least it’s not a run of the mill dubbel. It’s better than the 2.9 *semi rerate minutes later: when I began dropping this back quickly I really discovered how much I liked this unique brew - could be 3.3 but gotta go with what the hair holder thingy tells me* I gave it but that’s how it adds up. Can’t please this prima dona tonight. I absolutely would not buy this again. Rating stands.
