heavy (2826) - Split, CROATIA - JUN 15, 2016
Feb. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured hazy yellow body with a huge head atop. Fine orange peel, sugar, some alcohol and maybe coriander aroma. Flavor was lightly bitter, chalky, orange, pepper, with other hops and spices. Alcohol was lightly felt as a tingling, but didn’t bother. Medium bodied with moderately long bitter orange and herbal/spicy finish. More grainy and alcoholic here than in flavor. A bit dusty, too, with an occasional touch of tobacco at the very end. A bit more hoppy tripel than usual, also quite alcoholic. Far from that it couldn’t be better, but fine anyway.

Mooi goudblond licht troebel bier met volle witte schuimkraag. Bloemig in de neus, ook toffee. Lichte caramel, kruidig, appelsienschil, licht bittere warme afdronk. Goeie degelijke tripel.

Pours clear amber, very big white head. Smell is grainy. Taste is sharp, bit bitter, dry, somewhat metallic in its maltyness. Way to high carbo. Rather thin mouthfeel. Bit hollow overall.

Aroma is light sweet malts, clove and light plum. Taste is light pleasant sweet malts with dark fruits, clove and slight tang. Appearance is a slightly hazy gold with a medium fluffy pillow head that retains quite well.

Rather typical Tripel which pours a thick orange texture. Not bad with a robust hoppy aroma.

Full moon ravine review with goblet prior to random 2 wheel no lights adventure. Gurgly river below and honky geese above - a perfect night. Poured out a stellar fluffy head. It’s too thick to find any real aroma so screw that and it’s time to consume. Mellow flavour initially builds into thickness and smooth sips. Slow build up for sure. Light grains, soft brown sugar, notable non peppery spice, just turned Strava on in perpetration for midnight exploration. Just heard the faint sounds of some small mammal possibly being eaten. You know - I’ve tried fairly hard to pick up the nuances of this beer but I can’t. Highly drinkable, super smooth, zero alcohol and totally forgettable. Zero hate but I want more from my beer. Excellent house to break noob pussies in with. Let’s ride!

330 ml single bottle, huge gusher, from Molly’s Spirits. Weird cloudy orange appearance with visible sediment and a white head. Aroma of butterscotch, toffee and caramel. Similar flavor, adding toasted grain, Belgian yeast and a mild floral bitterness. Medium body with a soft creamy feel. Pairing: Umphrey’s Mcgee - The Triple Wide, from 12.28.13
