imdownthepub (14556) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 18, 2017
Cask conditioned at The North Norfolk Railway Beer Festival ’17, Sheringham, Norfolk. Amber to copper with white head. This proved to be quite a basic bitter, caramel with an earthy, twiggy hop note. Malt lead throughout though. It’s okay.

Found In The Old Eyre Arms, Hassop, Bakewell, Derbyshire. The Usual is normally only found in Derby the Eyre Arms is the only pub outside of Derby who stock it permanently. A well kept pint of traditional Best Bitter. A traditional copper coloured best bitter. Smooth on the palette with flavours of toffee and caramel.

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Copper with a thin head. Has a crispness above its maltiness, with the latter evident in its nose. Good session ale with not a particularly high bitterness.

Cask ale by hand-pump, half pint at the brewpub in Derby. Clear copper body, missing head, spotty lacing. Mild malt-fruity nose. Flavours of leafy hops, earthy malts and toffee. Rounded bitter finish. Fits the style (20.02.2015).
